Meet Vanessa

Vanessa’s love of adventure has informed her eclectic and free spirited approach to design. She’s lived in no less than 15 homes to date; in both California and the Chicagoland area, from mid century modern, to traditional Spanish, downtown high-rise condos, to farmhouses in the valley. Designing each one to suit the themes in her life at the given time. Since relocating back to her hometown on Chicago’s North Shore, Vanessa has begun to explore the meaning of home and the idea of a forever home.

Vanessa’s extensive background in psychology has informed her design work in many ways and provides a depth not often found in this creative space. The importance of energy, personal items, organization, color studies, textures and lighting has a huge impact on our mood and overall wellbeing. Vanessa applies the psychology of design to each and every project and considers elements not often applied to design on a large scale.

The idea of home is something I consider quite often. Home has always been such a transforming and temporary concept to me since leaving my childhood home at the age of 18. Since beginning a family of my own, I have began to explore the importance of long term living spaces and what truly makes a house a home. Flexibility and good design play a large role in that.
